Christchurch, Censorship,
& Control:

The Alp/Spierer Case Exposes the Playbook
On 15 March 2019, a far-right terrorist allegedly murdered 51 people in two Christchurch mosques, with 40 said to have been injured by gunfire. Authorities claim the attacker livestreamed 17 minutes of the first assault on Facebook before takedown. Officials further state the video was viewed about 4,000 times before being removed, sparking what Big Tech and government alike called an “unprecedented cleanup.” Facebook claimed it blocked or removed 1.5 million uploads in 24 hours. In the following months, platforms reportedly deleted over 4.5 million images and clips tied to the event.

That was the official story.
And it became the pretext for what came next.

The Christchurch Call: Ardern built it,
Luxon keeps it moving

Two months later (15 May 2019), Jacinda Ardern and Emmanuel Macron co-launched the Christchurch Call in Paris. The stated goal: eliminate “terrorist and violent extremist content” (TVEC) online. Tech giants rushed to comply. YouTube admitted content was being re-uploaded at the rate of one per second. Facebook trumpeted its mass deletions. Governments congratulated themselves.

In May 2024, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon joined Macron to re-launch the Call as an independent Foundation, with Ardern as Patron. By June 30, 2024, New Zealand taxpayer funding officially ended - replaced by pledges from governments and corporate partners. Different prime ministers, same direction. Labour or National - it makes no difference. Both carry the torch for the same agenda.

Alp/Spierer: the test case they don’t want debated
Against this backdrop came the state’s move on Kelvyn Alp and Hannah Spierer (Counterspin Media). Prosecutors allege they distributed an objectionable documentary which, according to officials, included the full Christchurch Mosque video. That clip was declared “objectionable” in March 2019 under the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act.

The charges (as alleged by the Crown):
• Distributing an objectionable publication
(maximum 14 years’ imprisonment for individuals; up to NZ$200,000 fines for body corporates).
Failing to assist with a computer search under the Search and Surveillance Act.
Spierer additionally charged for refusing fingerprints and a photograph.

When brought before the court in Christchurch (August 2022), Alp and Spierer refused to enter the dock, denounced the process as a political attack, and branded mainstream media “journalistic whores.” Their defiance laid bare the wider issue: retroactive censorship weaponised to crush political dissent.

Big Tech + the State: the new unelected ministry of truth
Officials claim the livestream was pulled after thousands had already seen it. Facebook insists it deleted millions of related posts in the following six months. YouTube boasts of erasing at scale.

But what’s really happening here? Definition creep. The vague category of “terrorist and violent extremist content” allows any uncomfortable material to be buried alongside genuine propaganda. Opaque processes. When governments and platforms act in tandem under “crisis protocols,” oversight evaporates. Continuity of agenda. Ardern set it up. Luxon continues it. Globalist policy dressed in different party colours.

The principle at stake
You don’t have to support atrocity propaganda to see the bigger danger. When truth itself becomes contraband the moment it challenges power, freedom is already over.

If free speech needs a permission slip from Big Tech and the Beehive, it isn’t free - it’s on parole.
